Jordi Pajares Ribas

Organist

Born in Barcelona in 1971.

He completed his musical studies at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceo, earning top grades and earning degrees as a Senior Professor of Organ and Piano.

His principal teachers were: Josep María Mas i Bonet (organ and basso continuo); Elsa Sanchis, M. Yamakoa, and Cecílio Tieles (piano).

He later refined his organ technique with the eminent organist D.H.C. Montserrat Torrent i Serra, receiving scholarships for the Ancient Iberian Music courses in Santiago de Compostela.

He holds a postgraduate diploma from the CSIC (Spanish National Research Council), specializing in the organ music of the composer Francisco Correa de Arauxo.

He has received master classes in organ from Olivier Latry, Michael Ralulescu, Ludger Lohmann, Andreas Schröeder, Enrico Viccardi, Guido Ioti, and João Vaz, among others.

He has expanded his technical knowledge with pianist Daniel Ligorio.

He has performed concerts on historic organs at various concert series and festivals in Catalonia, La Rioja, Castile and León, the Balearic Islands, and Germany; he has played in various cathedrals, including those in Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, and Menorca, as well as on the monumental organ in Mahón.

He performs regularly at various concert series, both as a soloist and accompanying choral groups, vocal soloists, and instrumentalists.

He has recorded various works for the radio station Cataluña Música and on YouTube, where he has his own channel.

He possesses a broad organ repertoire spanning from the Renaissance to the contemporary era.

He currently teaches piano at the Terrassa Professional Conservatory of Music and serves as head of the piano, harpsichord, and organ department.

Many of his students have won awards in various international competitions.

He is the organist at the Parish of Santa María in Barberà del Vallés and the organizer of the concert series held at that church; he also serves as an educator, promoting the Swiss-built organ (Späth Orgelbau) at the church during guided tours for adults.

Since 2025, he has been collaborating artistically with organist Anastasiia Marú and the ARTE+ project.
