ARTE+: Live Music and Painting is an interdisciplinary art project that brings together music and painting in a creative collaboration performed simultaneously live. During the concert, pianist and organist Anastasiia Marú performs musical works while visual artist Lucía Diako creates a painting inspired by the music and the venue where the event takes place.
The project is based on the dialogue between sound and image, allowing the audience to observe the creative process in real time. This interaction generates an immersive artistic experience in which music inspires pictorial creation, while the painting reveals a visual dimension of the auditory experience.
The project can be presented in different cultural contexts: in sacred spaces, with an organ repertoire that engages with the temple’s architecture, or in galleries and concert halls, where the piano performance inspires freer and more contemporary visual works.
In addition to its artistic dimension, the project has an important educational and cultural component, fostering interdisciplinary creativity and bringing the arts closer to the public, to music and art students, and to cultural institutions.
PARTICIPANTS
Lucia Diako (painting and iconography)
Anastasiia Marú (music: piano and organ)
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
- Artistic: To fuse music and painting in real time, highlighting the interaction between these two art forms.
- Educational: To engage students from conservatories and art schools through workshops, talks, and observation of the creative process.
- Cultural and social: To bring the arts closer to the general public, create meaningful experiences, and promote an appreciation for art in its various forms.
This project offers a unique artistic encounter, where music and painting come together live.
During the concert, Anastasiia Marú performs music on the piano and organ while Lucía Diako creates visual works inspired by the compositions.
The project’s main focus is on the connection between two art forms, demonstrating how music and painting can engage in a dialogue, creating a sensory, educational, and aesthetic experience for the audience.
ARTISTIC DESCRIPTION
1. Organ concerts in sacred spaces:
In concerts held in churches or other heritage sites, Anastasiia Marú performs organ and sacred music, while Lucía Diako creates paintings that incorporate architectural elements of the church, building a creative bridge between architecture, music, and painting. This format lends the event additional symbolic and educational value, contributing to the support and appreciation of national heritage.
2. Piano concerts in galleries or concert halls:
In cultural spaces such as art galleries or auditoriums, the music performed on the piano by Anastasiia Marú serves as inspiration for freer, more abstract paintings, in which Lucía Diako experiments with shapes, colors, and movement.
